10 Nights is Pulled From the Shelves

Official News

From Michelle Hughes

Owner of Tears of Crimson

Dear Friends of Crimson, sorry to get this information to you late, but I already had scheduled posts that I didn't want to interfere with and this is the first chance I've had to go public about my decision.  I've pulled all the 10 Nights books, including 10 Nights and Beyond 10 Nights and the edition that was not authorized and there will not be a third book in this installment unless it's a copyright infringement from another source.  There are times when a person must make a business decision and this is one of those times.  Tears of Crimson, including the site and the LLC will still be operational as well as Tears of Crimson Publishing.  All books previously published under my name alone will remain, and there will not be a partnership formed in the future for any books published under my llc.

My only regret in this situation is for the fans that were looking forward to a third book, and to you alone I apologize.  It is not worth my integrity as an author or risking animosities dealing with Amazon to continue the series that shall never be again named on this site.  We all make bad decisions, or bad business choices, and I will chalk this entire event up to that and move forward.  A lesson that could and should be learned for every indie author out there is to make sure a contract is in place with anyone before allowing them to work on your material.  I cannot stress enough how important it is to cover your assets.

I will not get into the reasons that the series that shall not be named has been pulled, but will say that I personally have no regrets about the work I put into the books or the compensation I've received because of it.  Since Romance is what I do, I have no doubt that there will be other titles released through Tears of Crimson that have the same amount or greater success in the future, and look forward to putting this entire incident in the past.  With the decision to trash the other series, I've begun a new book for my erotica fans that is destined to steam up your nights and there is a possibility that this will become a series.  Due to copyright infringement possibilities I am keeping the lid on this book until it's been officially registered with the US copyright Office.

In the end friends, it's all business even when the business is pleasure.  I love entertaining and choose to do so with my writing, but it's still a business.  I hope all my author friends out there are paying close attention to this post today, and remember to protect themselves.  I just can't stress enough how important that is.  Enjoy a beautiful Saturday and hey Karma is always your best friend!

Love Always,
Michelle Hughes
