Snow White’s a goth and Prince Charming’s a jerk! (Katherine McIntyre)

Snow White’s a goth and Prince Charming’s a jerk.

On Neve’s eighteenth birthday, her stepmother kicks her out. A group of diner rats offer her refuge—including Brendan, who offers his couch for her to crash on. But the more time she spends with him, the more he confuses her. One second, he’s kissing her. The next he’s pushing her away.

Believing her life has reached rock bottom, Neve struggles to ditch her “damaged girl” label. But when she uncovers the truth about her life, she’s rocked to her very foundation. Will Neve be able to hold on to the good things coming her way, or will her bad luck poison everything?

Excerpt:

Neve knew this day would come. She’d been dreading it the past year, wondering what would happen and, for the life of her, unable to hazard a guess as to where the future would take her. After spending the past weeks worrying and hours in front of her computer screen talking to Internet strangers who had given her little useful advice, she’d grown wearier each day. At last, it had arrived—her eighteenth birthday.

Tugging at the spiked collar around her neck, she stole a glance at the front door of the house she’d grown up in. The peach siding created a gorgeous contrast to the stucco walls and the dark-brown roof tiles—a fairytale house in a fairytale suburban neighborhood. She rolled her eyes. Too bad life had been anything but.

She’d never wanted any of this, but such was life. Her dad hadn’t asked when he’d ditched. No, he’d pranced out of the closet and ran off with his lover, leaving her with Veronica.

Her neck itched from too much sun. She’d been out here two hours, pacing around her cul-de-sac one hundred thirteen times since she’d returned from her shift at the cafĂ© and, so far, had accomplished nothing. Her stomach clenched with the stark hollowness of what would happen the moment she walked through that door. Inside, Veronica would be waiting. As much as she hated confrontation and knew in her gut trouble was brewing, she’d have to deal with her stepmother at some point and was better off handling this mess without a bad case of sunburn. Neve let out a weary sigh then trekked up the paved walkway to her front door. Time to face the beast.

Tears of Crimson - Year in Review

From everyone at Tears of Crimson, we'd like to wish you the Happiest of New Years!  2014 was one of our best years ever, and it's all because of wonderful readers like you!  So many things have happened this year, and we'd like to take a chance to highlight them for our own memory capsule of sorts.  What better way to do that than with the friends of Crimson who made this journey possible?

Before that happens, we'd like you to know a little bit more about how this dream all came together.  In 2008, Michelle was laid off from her job in Respiratory Therapy.  Her husband was working full time, and they decided together that raising their youngest child who hadn't begun school yet was a better choice than looking for new employment.

Writing at that time was just a way to pass the free time Michelle now had, going from a 72 hour work week to stay at home mom.  In that first year she penned the original Tears of Crimson book, built from years of dreams she had.  The book didn't hit a bestseller list and only sold twenty copies in the first few months.  To Michelle this was like hitting the lottery though, because she never dreamed it was possible that anyone other than family or friends would want to read her material.

It would take her several more books before she made a profit on her craft, and it was a humble beginning that still meant she needed a job when the youngest went to school.  Then something miraculous happened, one of her books made it to the top 100 overall on Amazon.  Once she proved that this writing thing was more than just a way to pass time, a career outside the home became less likely.  Even her husband, who is and was one of those people that can only see black and white, started to believe that living a dream could actually work in supporting their family.

2014 proved that Michelle's writing was indeed a better choice than leaving the comfort of her home since she surpassed even her husbands generous salary after he'd worked for the same company for the last twenty years.  Thanks to wonderful readers like you, Michelle continues to bring new worlds of romance and in 2015, paranormal as well.  The original book she penned is getting a facelift and her vision for Tears of Crimson will be reimagined.  Contemporary Romance has been her love, and that won't be changing, but the paranormal romance will be an addition to those readers who've been there from the beginning.

With all that being said, 2014 was an incredible year, and everyone here at Tears of Crimson is just thrilled to have such a loyal family that we will always consider Friends of Crimson.

Tears of Crimson Love

If you haven't noticed, Tears of Crimson has gotten a new look and it's all in preperation for the Mardi Gras Book release of the new vision for Cara and Rafe.  The entire event centers around Fat Tuesday, February 17,2015.  Originally I had planned to run the Virtual Book Tour on my own, but I'm just slammed with other things that need my attention.  Thanks to my incredible friend, Brandy Dorsch, I discovered Girl's *Heart* Book Tours!  I've decided to hand over the promotional blast to them, and I hope you'll stop in and sign up.  If you have a blog, that's all you need.

The giveaway for a $100 Amazon Gift Card, is completely seperate, and nothing will change there. You can enter that by visiting the Rafflecopter link here.  If you stopped by the blog a few days ago, you'll also know that I've decided to work with Dahlia Salvatore for Jack's second book.  I've received hundreds of emails asking when that one would hit the shelf, and knew I needed a help to make it happen.  My computer was hit by a nasty little virus, and ended in the blue screen of death. New computer, and a fresh set of eyes for Jack, Talk about a busy week!

The second book for 1st, is also getting some love, but I'm not listing a release date for it yet.  I promise, as soon as I have more information on that date, I'll share it.  I can't tell you how much I appreciate all the inquiries I've gotten for future book releases, and you have my word that I'm working my fingers to the bone to give you the stories you crave.

2015 is going to be another exciting year for Tears of Crimson, and myself as an author.  I hope you're holiday shopping is almost wrapped up and you're ready to enjoy time with family and friends as the best season of the year comes to life.  If you haven't noticed I'm a huge Christmas fan.  I'm working on a reference side for the new Tears book as a companion, and will offer it free of charge to readers of the series.  So busy, busy, busy.  It's not something you'll need to enjoy the story, but it will explain more about the characters and their beginnings.

Wherever your travels take you this holiday season, I am sending my love with you.  Be blessed, and a blessing to those around you.  I consider all of you one to me!

Love,
Michelle

Always (Wesson Rebels M.C.) Shyla Colt

Book Description

I never understood the phrase there’s a thin line between love and hate, until Dallas Wesson and I, became us.

The beautiful green-eyed biker with the broken soul tantalizes me with glimpses of the man behind the vest. He‘s gravity. I have no choice but to return to him, regardless of what it costs me. Our story is messy, unconventional, uninhibited, and insane. Still, it’s real, and until now it’s always been more than enough. I’m broken, bleeding out, and completely wrecked. I walk away. Yet, he refuses to let me go. Because no matter how much I resist him we both know what lies between us is for always.

Author Bio

Shyla Colt grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, but has lived a variety of different places thanks to her wanderlust, interesting careers, and marriage to a United States Marine. She’s always loved books and wrote her very first novel at the age of fifteen. She keeps a copy of her first submission letter on her desk for inspiration.

After a lifetime of traveling, she settled down and knew her time had come to write. Diving into her new career like she does everything else, with enthusiasm, research and a lot of prayers, she had her first book published in June of 2011. As a full-time writer, stay at home mother, and wife, there’s never a dull moment in her household.

She weaves her tales in spare moments and the evenings with a cup of coffee or tea at her side and the characters in her head for company.  A self-professed rebel with a pen. Her goal is to diversify romance as she continues to genre hop, and offer up strong female characters.

Enjoy a Traditional Regency Romance by Daphne Du Bois

A traditional Regency romance in the style of Georgette Heyer...

She will settle for nothing less than love…

Miss Margaret Dacre dreams of two things: creating the gowns she’s been dreaming up in her sketchbooks and winning the love of Lord Hartley. And neither of these will come true if her father has his way and she marries her dreadful cousin Kingsley Stanhope.

But Maggie is not one to give up without a fight: she decides that she’s long-overdue an adventure and nothing less than Paris will do.

As Maggie and her dearest friend Cecile begin to establish their new identities in the most romantic city in the world, she discovers that love isn’t so easily left behind – especially when you’re trying to ignore it.

But will Lord Hartley ever see her as more than his best friend’s little sister? Or would the handsome conductor Sir Lucian Blake make for a better match?

About the Author

Daphne has always had a passion for literature and history and one day it occurred to her: what better way to use her English Literature degree than to write about Regency romps and romance? She hasn't looked back since. Admittedly, her addiction to all things Jane Austen from a very young age had probably somewhat informed her choice of subject matter...

Daphne has stacks of notebooks full of stories that still need to be written, which she insists on bringing with her when she moves around the world (she's done this a lot!). She likes her books full of romance, adventure, witty repartee and a dash of silly humour. When Daphne isn't writing, she can be found painting, picnicking, reading and listening to all sorts of exciting music.

Daphne also writes fantasy under the pen name Emily de Courcy - her first anthology, 'From Fairies and Creatures of the Night, Guard Me', will be out early December 2013.

Also look out for her third Regency romance, His Wayward Duchess, out late Jan 2014!
