Jack

I’m the son of Liam O’Reagan, next in line to wear the crown.
And when I prove myself worthy, I will RULE over the Irish Mafia.
I don’t have time for distractions—much less time for a woman who has always been the bane of my existence.
When Maeve comes back into my life, I fight like hell to resist the pull she has on me.
An attraction that has only grown stronger with time.
But, when trouble lands her at my feet, I take the opportunity to have what I truly want.
I offer her a deal. I’ll help her, but the cost will be one night in my bed.
One night of submission.
One night to have her completely at my mercy.

If only I had known my battle with Maeve would start a war.

Maeve

Jack is the only one who can help me.
Too bad, he hates me.
But I have no choice but to go to him.
It turns out, hate is a powerful motivator, and I just handed him a way to punish me.
He offers me his help—for a price. Everything in his world has a price.
One night in his bed.
He’s everything a woman would want, so this should be easy. Only, I’m a virgin, and he terrifies me.
I should run, but I won’t.
I can’t.
I just pray this one night doesn’t destroy us both.

“One night in my bed. You submit to me, and the debt is cleared.”
My stomach churns, and I can’t look at him. “If I say no?” I quickly look back at him while trying to hold the pleading note in my voice back.
He works a muscle in his jaw before his face relaxes. “You can say no.” He shrugs and walks away from me. “But that’s the deal. One night with me and I’ll give you the twelve grand.”
My options were; be used in a brothel by countless men or give myself for one night to Jack, and the debt is cleared.
Heat slowly creeps up my chest as I think of both scenarios. Jack sits back down behind his desk and starts writing. “Make up your mind quickly.”
Anger accelerates my heart once again. He could have any girl in the world, so why me? I knew why— because he could—because his money is his power.
Hate heightens in my system, and I close my eyes briefly. “Fine.”
He doesn’t look up at me, even as my soul screams not to do this. He still keeps writing, and I wonder if he heard me.
“I agree,” I say louder.
“I heard you the first time.” He doesn’t look up as he speaks, as if I’m not worth looking at anymore.

A Blast From The Past - Singer/Songwriter

I was goofing off a few weeks ago and ran across this website called Kompoz.  As some of you may (or may not) know back in the early 1990's I was a country singer/songwriter.  I gave up that dream when I had my twins, and moved toward a different career path.  I had even moved to Nashville back in my singing days, and while I had fun it wasn't really a life for me.

So, with all that being said, I ran across this person named NicoleJ on Kompoz and he was looking for lyrics and vocals for the music he had written. I was bored that day and decided why not.  Please understand all I had was a computer mic and audacity, but I think that being said this little song turned out okay for a one shot trial.  So it is a blast from my past to try and sing and write again, but it was great fun.

You should go check out NicoleJ who is still in the music industry, and hey if you can lay down better vocals for him, I'd encourage it.  Definitely not my thing anymore no matter how much fun it was.  You can find NicoleJ here:  https://www.kompoz.com/music/artist/Nicolej

Mama Hall's Cornbread Dressing (with Video)

Ingredients:

2 Pans of Cornbread (If you don't know how to make cornbread here's that easy recipe: http://www.whitelily.com/recipes/southern-buttermilk-cornbread-3890
2 Onions (Finely Chopped)
6 Eggs (This is NOT a typo)
1 Lg bag of Leg Quarters
2 Teaspoons of Sage
Salt and Pepper to Taste
1 Box Onion Soup Mix
1 Box of Stuffing (For emergency use as you'll read below)

Directions.

  • Boil the leg quarters making sure to keep plenty of water covering them until done (you'll use this for your broth)  When cooked peel it off the bone and set aside to cool.
  • Crumble up your COOKED cornbread into a large pan like the one used above.
  • Mix into cornbread chopped onions, sage, salt and pepper, onion soup mix, eggs, peeled chicken (all ingredients but the stuffing mix).
  • Slowly begin adding your broth (the water you cooked your chicken in) mixing until you can place your hand on top of this mixture and it feels moist to the touch but not overly soupy!  This is where that box stuffing comes in.  If you put too much broth and need to add more thickness use that stuffing!
  • Place in oven at 350 degrees (preheated please) and cook for 45 minutes!

This incredible recipe was passed down for generations, and my mom, Susan Hall, taught it to me. It's my favorite dish at Thanksgiving and Christmas, so with my mom's permission, I'm sharing it with you.    The secrets, she says, is the eggs, most people don't add enough eggs to their dressing.  If you try this recipe and enjoy it as much as I do, please share it and say thanks to my mom, who was kind enough to share her secret.  I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

My Support For Donald J Trump

Let me preface this by saying Trump is not a god, there is only one God, and he chooses people, sometimes very imperfect people to use to help share his will with people.  I do not worship Trump, I am not a racist, or a homophobe, but I am a person with extraordinarily strong convictions that line up with my Christian faith.  I’ve had people ask me how can I be a Christian when I write steamy romance, and I will explain like I explained to them, this is a gift GOD gave me, and I have used that ability to be a stay at home mother for my children.  The truth is I’m a married woman with five children and not the people I write about.  Another word I’ve heard from former authors and friends, is psychopath for supporting Trump as my president.  I would have to say the real people with mental issues are those who thought I was a psychopath because I chose to vote for a man that believed in many of the Christian values I do.  Let me be truly clear, my God loves ALL people and understands we are ALL sinners.  He tells us very clearly to LOVE ALL people in his word, the Bible.

I very rarely share my belief system in my blog because it’s a personal thing for me, as your faith should be to you.  Our family does not attend church, but we do follow the ten commandments and believe that Jesus died on the cross for our sins.  A personal relationship with God has never meant I needed to worship with others outside our family for me.  I strongly believe many churches are no longer filled with the Holy Spirit, and that true faith comes from personal prayer.  With all that said, I’d like to get to the point of reaching out to you today.

This country is at a turning point, one we may very well never walk back from.  We are completely divided, and evil is filling the soul of many of those today.  The lockdowns have created a growing anger in this country that is being fueled by such great political divide that if we don’t find some common ground, we may no longer have a country.  Millions of Americans believe this election cycle was filled with fraud and will probably end up in a court of law before the President is chosen.  These are simple facts no matter how the media would like to tell you otherwise.   The media has been a great source of the strife we are seeing happening in the United States today.  I won’t delve into what my thoughts are on that but will leave it with they cannot be trusted.

A great evil is filling the souls of countless Americans on both sides of the political aisle. As a Christian, I turn to the bible for comfort but for now all I see is the beginning of the end of days.   Dark times await us regardless of an outcome for this election.   A specific verse comes to mind.  I Corinthians 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.  I personally believe that Trump is our last chance as a nation.  Regardless of your faith, or lack thereof, you may feel a growing sense of dread and wonder if there will ever be peace among our fellow citizens here in the United States.

I don’t have an answer.  I was raised to believe in a New World Order, and I think we are moving closer to that every single day.  I do personally believe that the virus was a form of biological terrorism.  If you’ve never studied the bible and you’d like to understand what I’m talking about I suggest researching the Olivet Discourse.  I felt in my heart I needed to bring this message to my blog today, even though it will probably upset many of my readers.  At this time, the need to share my truth is more important than you liking me.  I pray for this country I love, and for each person reading this blog.

My reasons that I support Donald J Trump are easy.  I am Pro-Life, Pro-Gun, a Christian, and believe he has done a wonderful job with our economy.  It really is as simple as that.

Did The Media Overstep By Assuming Biden Was President Elect?

When it comes to our election, all voters expect fairness.  This is the one thing both parties should agree on.  The 2020 election was unlike any in history, with more mail in ballots sent in than ever before.  Many videos have been released of ballots being thrown away, and I think we must all take into consideration that our voting system no longer works in the age of Covid-19.  Despite your political affiliation, as an American, you deserve a fair election.  Until these questions of fraud are answered, there can be no decision.  We must all stand together and demand all allegations of fraud are answered.  The media does not decide the outcome of an election.  We knew 2020 was going to be a different year, and now we have disenfranchised voters on all sides.  Did the media overstep by assuming Biden was president elect?  That's the question you need to ask yourself without thinking about which party you voted for.

The Exodus From Main Stream Media

Thousands of patriots are walking away from Main Stream News Media after their early call for a Biden win before all the votes were counted.  The buzz on the street from the Right is that this was all a media ploy to push Biden as the winner to take away the election by fraud.  Is it true?  That's a matter for the courts to decide and it does look like this election will end up there.  The biggest villain in the game?  Fox News, widely known as a conservative hangout for republican watchers.  Since Trump was elected into office, Fox News was the only main stream media source that gave the President a fair shake, according to Republicans, but they turned the tide and pulled in extreme left reporters and created a sinking ship for those that only watched for the conservative spin.  CNN was considered the left leaning news while Fox spun for the right.

Main Stream Media today is seen as a propaganda machine for political parties today according to many of the conservative viewers that I've spoken personally with.  People are disenfranchised about having the truth spoken instead of pushing an agenda.  If what the people are saying has merit, then Main Stream Media is no more than entertainment for the masses with no journalistic integrity left.  More and more conservatives are reaching out to smaller venues like NewsMax and Oann for their news, that fact is proven by the increased numbers both media corporations have gained in the last few months.  It's no secret that Main Stream Media is supported by advertising, and people like Bloomberg have pushed millions into left leaning stances.

Facebook and Twitter have both come under attack as well for censoring the conservative opinion, while blatantly leaving off attacks for left leaning liberal opinions.  With fact checks only being added to Republican posts, they have made an enemy of the right and conservatives are leaving those in droves to move to Parler and other sights like MeWe.

America is divided, that has never been more clear than in the 2020 election.  The Patriots won't accept a Biden win without a court date and total recount of votes.  And if that vote overturns Biden's win it's unlikely Democrats will accept that verdict.  Either way our country has been torn apart by two ideologies that can no longer occupy the same space.  What's the solution?  That's to be seen in the upcoming months as our country currently seems divided straight down the middle.

Overcoming COPD with Vaping - My Story

5 years ago, I had lost my ability to sing. I couldn't breathe without coughing. I found myself choking and terrifying my family before being rushed to the Emergency room one night and hospitalized where I was diagnosed with COPD (Chronic Bronchitis). I had smoked two packs of cigarettes a day since I was 18 years old (over 25 years) and to make matters worse I was a respiratory therapist so addicted to cigarettes that I couldn't quit smoking. Even after trying every medical product on the market at the time (pills, patches, gums, hypnosis) I was losing my battle, and my life!

A friend on Facebook Dawn Thorp had long suggested (before my hospital stay) that I give vaping a try. I thought she was crazy (sorry Dawn) and this stupid electronic cigarette thing was just another waste of time. With my life literally on the line, I decided to give it a shot. The day I left the hospital I drove to my local vape shop that I'd driven past for two years rolling my eyes at.

That was the last day I smoked a cigarette. I started vaping and it's been five years since I've touched a cigarette! I have not been diagnosed with bronchitis or pneumonia in that entire time. Five years with neither of those when prior I had one or the other every three months. I can sing again. I can breathe without coughing. I don't choke and terrify my family any longer. My oxygen levels are consistently at 97 -98%. That is all the proof I need to tell anyone that Vaping is the way to finally destroy that smoking habit. I haven't had to use an inhaler again either! This is MY story!

Vaping gives adults a product that is so much safer than deadly cigarettes.  If you've never dealt with cigarette addiction, you can't possibly understand how hard it is to quit.  The media has done a horrible job trying to vilify vaping when not seeing the positive effects it's had for me and millions of others who struggled with this addiction.  The real scientific proof on vaping has been hidden by political motivation and stories like mine are buried beneath them.  One thing I can promise you is that there is not one single vaping advocate that wants underage children vaping.  Not one, and I've talked to thousands.  This is how we've overcome our deadly addiction to cigarette smoking, and reversed the possibility of long term problems that are associated with smoking.

Simply put, an eliquid is comprised of four ingredients.  Propylene Glycol, Vegetable Glycerin, FDA approved food flavorings, and nicotine (for those that choose to use it).  Health organizations have listed over 7,000 ingredients in a cigarettes, so common sense tells you that vaping is the safer option.  FDA "Fact: There are more than 7,000 chemicals in cigarette smoke.  More than 70 of those chemicals are linked to cancer.  Verified link here:  FDA link

EXCERPT

I inhale the perfume of lilacs, and watch the horses grazing among the vines. Then I remind myself that it’s October, and there aren’t any horses on the grounds anymore.
That’s how I know I’m still dreaming.
I’ve been a lucid dreamer since I was little, capable of controlling my consciousness at whim while asleep. It’s the one Greyson-like talent I’ve been blessed with, and it’s not even that interesting.
A burst of laughter calls my attention to a couple drinking champagne on the patio. I approach them. They ask if I’m wearing that to the party, and it’s not until I notice how they’re dressed—her in a silk blue wrap dress with ruffles, and him in a fedora and striped jacket—and the way their silhouettes dissolve slightly into the air around them, that I realize they aren’t just stand-ins manufactured by my dream engine.
They’re ghosts. My mom tried describing them to me, but it’s one thing to hear about something and another to actually see it with your own eyes.
Ghosts don’t look the way you might expect, all white-sheeted and billowy. Neither do they resemble rotting corpses. They look like shimmery versions of regular people. A little fuzzy around the edges, maybe, but otherwise normal.
The clamor of horn-heavy music playing elsewhere on the estate coaxes me to step barefooted into the grass. I make my way toward the sound. Sure enough, there’s a party in full swing in the grand foyer. I peek through the windows at the crowd of ghosts having a grand old time, drinking, laughing, and dancing.
I stay and watch for a while and listen to the band play, until a man in a waistcoat comes up behind me and asks if I have an invitation. I run into the field, glancing over my shoulder to make sure I’m not being chased.
A woman in a white dress watches me from a second-story window. I’m not a hundred percent certain, but I’m pretty sure she’s watching me from the room I’m staying in. She’s too far away to note the details of her face, but her hair is long, dark, and straight, like mine. I blink and she’s gone, and her absence unsettles me and sends me galloping further into the grapevines.
The sky hasn’t changed since I awoke into the dreamscape, giving the vineyard a sense of timelessness. Now that I’m away from the house, I make my way down the rows of vines slowly, skimming my fingers over the leaves.
This place isn’t so bad without Edward and his awful relatives making me feel unwelcome. It would’ve been even nicer to have come here with my mother; I could’ve listened to her tell her own stories.
A crow soars overhead and then drops into a cluster of trees. That’s when I spot the man standing with his back to me among the vines.
“Hello,” I call out, moving a little closer. He turns his blond head slowly, like he’s not sure if he heard me. I call out again, “Hello, sir?”
When our gazes meet, I stop advancing. His eyes are so blue they’re almost turquoise. I’m already lost in them, and I just got here. He studies me curiously, like he’s never seen a girl in a Blind Melon tee shirt before.
“Did you say something to me?” he asks.
“I said hello.”
The man looks around, like he’s making sure I’m not actually talking to someone behind him. He’s a pretty big guy, fit and brawny. Maybe he’s the ghost of a laborer, I think, though his clean shirt and fair skin would suggest he’s not one for toiling in the sun. I’d guess him to be somewhere in his mid-thirties. I wonder how long it’s been since he passed on, then remind myself he isn’t real. This place looks like the vineyard, but it’s not the vineyard. There’s no reason my mind couldn’t dream up ghosts just as easily as it cooks up impatient servers.
“How long have you lived here?” I ask. Mom also told me that ghosts sometimes forget they’re dead, and when they do, it’s best not to remind them. Nine times out of ten, whenever there’s an aggressive haunting, it’s because a ghost is confused, or hasn’t yet come to terms with their situation. This man appears lucid enough, and his silhouette is surprisingly crisp, but I figure it’s better to play it safe.
His lip curls slightly. “I’ve been here much longer than I’d like to be.”
“Oh. That sucks.” I’m not sure how else to respond.
Two rows of vines separate us, but even that distance and a coating of golden scruff aren’t enough to mask the fact that he’s handsome. His face is angular without being pointed, his lips full, yet defined. The longer I look at him, the faster my pulse starts to race. Heat floods my face as I force myself to stop gawking at him like some wannabe groupie.
“I’m just visiting my dad,” I say, hoping he won’t notice the tremor in my voice. The man says nothing. When I allow myself to glance his way again, he’s no longer standing in the same spot.
He’s right beside me.
I stagger back a few steps.
“How did you do that?” A dumb question, considering ghosts don’t have to follow the laws of physics in the real world, let alone the nonexistent rules in my dreams.
I hold my breath as the man reaches out to touch my cheek. Somehow his eyes are even bluer this close up.
“How is this possible?” He strokes the sides of my face.
“Anything’s possible in a dream,” I say. He shakes his head in disbelief, like I’m the ghost in his dreams.
“This is why he wants you,” he says, and I have no idea what that means.
“Who wants me?”
His gaze lifts over my shoulder, in the direction of the house.
“It’s time to wake up, Mariah.”
“Why?” And how does he know my name?
“You have a visitor.” He grasps my shoulders firmly enough to pinch and shakes me.
I’m jolted awake, for real this time.
It takes me a second to recall where I am—in bed, in the guestroom, at Red Cliff—and half a second more to realize that I’m not alone.

EXCERPT

“You understand there is always a price for my help?”
Panic wrapped an iron band around my chest, and I sucked in a shaky breath. I’d known this was coming, and I had no idea what he’d want in return for his help. “I don’t have any money.”
“Oh, I don’t trade in money.” He laughed, but his face flashed with something villainous. “My currency is dark deeds and dirty secrets.”
I swallowed hard and glanced at the hallway, wondering if it was too late to escape. I had no secrets, none that I remembered anyway, which meant he would want a dark deed of some kind. Would he ask for something illegal? Something dangerous? Something I would regret for the rest of my life? I nearly ran out the door, but then I pictured Brandy’s son looking up at me with barely contained tears as he asked when his mom was coming home, and my resolve hardened. I looked Lucas in the eye and nodded.
He leaned forward, no longer casual. “Are you willing to do whatever it takes?”
“Yes,” I said breathlessly. “What do you want?”
“You.”
My jaw dropped, and my stomach dropped lower. Possibly through the floor. All the floors. “Me?”
He chuckled, the sound a dark melody full of wicked promises. “Six nights with you. Here in my penthouse. Mine to do with as I please.”
I gasped at the sensual pause between each of his last three words. Then I shook my head, certain I’d misheard. Misunderstood perhaps. Yes, that last one. “Excuse me? You expect me to give you carte blanche to do anything to me? For six nights?”
"Would you prefer seven?” A sinful grin crossed his lips as he leaned back against the soft leather of the couch. “I will warn you, I don't rest on the seventh day."
Seven?” My thoughts scrambled, and all I could do was stare at him. Was he serious?
He nodded. “Yes, let’s make it seven nights. One for each deadly sin. Even better.”
Shit. I really shouldn’t have questioned that six nights thing. I ran the scenarios through my head, my face warming as I saw many of them in glorious detail. Yes, the man was insanely attractive, but he was proposing something six degrees of indecent. Not to mention, he was a total stranger. A very gorgeous, very dangerous stranger. What he was asking of me…it was too much. Maybe there was some other way I could find Brandy. Someone else I could go to for help.
Lucas watched me, waiting for my decision. "Tick-tock. Time is slipping away. The longer you wait, the less likely we’ll find your friend alive."
Fear pulsed through me at the thought, but he was right. She’d already been missing for days. I needed to make a decision quickly, but I had to be sure about what I was getting myself into. I cleared my throat. “Let me get this straight. You want me to stay here with you for seven nights while you…do whatever you want to me. Sexually.”
His gaze darkened to a glower, and I nearly trembled at the intensity of it. “I have never forced myself on a woman, and I never will, if that’s what you’re worried about.”
A breath of relief left my lips. “I had to be sure. I’ve never done anything like this before.”
“I promise no harm will come to you by my hand. But as for sex…” He rose to his feet and walked the few steps toward me, making me look up at him. Then he bent forward and rested his hands on the back of the couch on either side of my head, caging me in. “Don’t you know who I am? They call me the devil for a reason. Temptation, lust, sin, all wrapped up in a neat little package. Oh, who am I kidding? A huge package. Trust me, before the week ends you’ll be begging for every single thing I do to you.”

AUTHOR BIO

Kelli writes hot and steamy romances with delicious alpha males who will not stop until they get the women they crave exactly where they want them. Kelli’s heroes are tough as nails, hot as sin, and underneath the rough exterior is a heart of gold begging to be unleashed. If you think you can tame them, you’re probably right, but it won’t be an easy journey.
