Each year in America alone 450,000 people die from smoking. I was one of those people headed to an early grave. In 2015 I was diagnosed with COPD, after trying every product my doctor suggested to stop smoking (Chantix, nicotine gum and patches, even hypnosis). All of those products failed me. After I left the hospital with my COPD diagnosis, I decided to try one last effort that I'd laughed at before. Vaping. I drove to my local vape shop, picked up a vaping device, and honestly thought it was a waste of time and money. When your life is at risk, you're willing to try anything, so I decided to give this a try. I walked out of that shop using my vaping device (mod and tank) and that was the last day I smoked. It's been five years + now and I still haven't touched a cigarette. How many smokers that have tried to quit, can say that with other products? Not many.
I made it my life mission to tell every smoker about vaping, and how it saved my life. When something changes your health for the better, it's hard not to give praise. I can't express how angry I am with public health and other agencies, trying to ban something that literally saved my life. To me, attempting to ban vaping and flavors, is like denying an asthmatic an inhaler, that's how seriously I take this. Let me say that vaping is an adult smoking cessation product, first. I've spoken to thousands of adults that have used vaping to quit smoking (many of them with COPD like myself) and none of use would EVER want a child (teen) to use a vaping product. Vaping is no different than any other smoking cessation product, except that is has a higher success level!
In the UK they have vaping shops in hospitals to help smokers quit, and why the USA is so far behind the UK on this is an anomaly I can't explain. They've invested millions upon millions of dollars in research in the UK and have proven vaping to be 95% safer than vaping. 95%! We have failed public health in the states, by demonizing a product that is saving lives! I hate to say it, but the reason public health in America has failed adult smokers is simple greed. Let me explain so you can make and INFORMED decision and not the lies you are being spoon fed.
"Between 1998 and 2010, states have collected nearly $244 billion in cigarette taxes and settlement money." This is directly from the CDC and the number is astronomical. Now ask yourself how far the government in each state would go to continue receiving that tax money? It's never been about protecting adult lives, it's been about lining their state government with death money from smokers. These are facts you can easy research yourself. If you want a breakdown per state in 2020 how much they made from cigarette taxes visit here: https://www.salestaxhandbook.com/cigarette-tax-map
A majority of people that don't vape might remember hearing last year about "vaping" killing people. After vilifying vaping, it was discovered that those deaths were cause by people using pot in a vaping device that was cut with Vitamin E acetate and had nothing to do with e-cigarettes and nicotine vaping. This was the excuse states began using to try and ban vaping, when it was THC (pot) and not an true e-cigarette. Feel free to read that article here https://www.cnn.com/2019/11/08/health/vaping-injury-vitamin-e-thc-bn/index.html
When they failed to show nicotine vaping caused any death, they moved on to "Think about the children." Adult products like vaping, smoking, alcohol, were never meant for children. They continue to lie in advertisements today about vaping containing metals, with no truth or scientific evidence. The facts are simple. Vaping has helped more smokers quit smoking than any other product on the market for smoking cessation. With people vaping, states receive less money from adults smoking, and pharmaceutical companies lose revenue on their failed smoking cessation pills and drugs. Again, these are facts that can easily be researched by anyone. It's never been about the children, or fear of health issues in vaping, it's always been about money.
I know that was a very long article, but I felt it needed to be said. I was a 25+ year smoker who quit smoking the same day I started vaping and never looked back. Many things have changed over the last five years with vaping, but I can share with you how I stopped smoking and the tools I used to do it with. I still believe the best way to quit smoking is by using a MTL (mouth to lung) tank and a simple mod (the device that powers the vaping device)
Some great MTL tanks to use (find out more here https://vaping360.com/best-vape-tanks/mtl-tanks/)
Internal Battery Mod read more about these here: https://ecigarettereviewed.com/best-internal-battery-vape-mods/
I prefer the tank/mod system but many people enjoy pens so I'm including those here for you as well. Find out more about these here: https://vaping.com/blog/best-compilations/best-vape-pens-2019/
No matter what you choose to stop smoking and start vaping, I hope you'll make 2021 your year to kick the habit! Please feel free to leave questions or comments below.
