The Controversy Over the 10 Nights Series and a Request

Dear Friends,

I would like to first of all thank you for the huge amount of support I've received concerning the 10 Night Series.  It has warmed my heart to know that I have such a great group of people that believe in what I do, and I will be forever grateful for that.   That being said, It's time for the past to be left behind, and move forward to bigger and better things.  Enough name calling has gone on, and many feelings hurt on both sides of this travesty, and for me personally,  I would rather create great books and not have my readers feel divided.  I began writing to bring joy to readers and to be in the middle of drama such as this is the last thing I ever wanted to bring to to your doorstep.

Regardless of who's right or wrong in this matter, that's a decision for the courts to decide, I believe it's time to just put this incident behind and leave it as a bad business choice on both of our ends.  Life is entirely too short to be filled with useless Drama, and I truly would prefer any angst be between the pages of my books. I know that several people have felt the need to strike out against the other person involved here, and while I understand your anger, I am personally asking you as a favor to me, to just let things go.  No matter what has transpired, I still believe that in the end good things happen to those that do the right thing.

This isn't a situation that will be resolved by arguing about who the injured party is here.  Mistakes were made, and decisions were not properly written down, and until this is resolved legally, anything said will do nothing but add more anger to the situation on both sides.  There will be new books, and since romance is what I do, I'd rather be a lover than a fighter.  Above everything else, this has been a valuable learning experience.  In every situation in life there is a lesson to be learned, and a positive to be gained.  Sometimes those experiences are easy and good, other times they kick you in the butt and you have to learn the hard way.  One things for sure, I'm glad that I'm alive and kicking and able to get all the experiences that this life has to offer.

I would like to make a request. Until this matter is settled the right way, we just put this discussion away and spend our energy on looking to tomorrow.  Currently I'm working on several new releases, and all this time spent agonizing over this subject is taking me away from that work.  The best cure for any problem, in my opinion, is to lay it on the table, allow your mind to run it over, and if the problem can't be solved right away, well then you move on to other things.  So that's my stand on this entire fiasco.  I appreciate you taking time out of your busy schedule to stop in.

Always,
Michelle

    1. Thanks SJ. My brain can't handle anything more than the projects going on at the moment. You know mom of five, author, wife, and since the hubs decided to put in a garden today, gardnerer should be added to the tasks. Oh and home-school mom to one ... can't forget that one!

  2. I don't know you, but I'm an editor who ran across your story tonight... That should never have happened. I'm sorry you've gone through this. I can't imagine...taking an author's work and claiming it as my own. The business is getting a bit seedy, I daresay. You keep on writing. Like you said, lesson learned. Sometimes we learn them the hard way. Good luck to you.

  3. I think you are very wise in doing this, never let anything or anyone stand in the way of you writting. I know you have alot on your plate but you do juggle it very well I must say. Life is to short for all this non-sence drama simply because a person can't make it on his own and has to use other person talent.People that know you know the truth and well the rest of them just need to wake-up, they may be his next victim! I have copies of all that transpired BETWEEN the said person and all I can say is may god forgive you.what is the old saying Karma is a bitch but has nothing on a pissed of mother..in this case that would be me! I WILL DO AS YOU ASK let it go. love you and i know you are going to write another best seller and not have to deal with the drama

  4. Thanks so much for your kind words Tara. I'm working on new releases now and would just like to put this matter behind me. I agree though, authors need to have contracts in place and understand copyright laws completely.

    Truly,
    Michelle
